Cheers! We capture the magical moment friends, relatives and colleagues reunite at pubs across Northampton

Pubs across town were packed out today as the easing of lockdown allowed venues to serve food and drink to customers outside.

The weather brought a mix of sunshine and cloud but it did at least stay dry and allowed people to raise a glass with friends, family and colleagues for the first time in months.

Lastly, featured in this picture gallery, we visited the Brampton Halt in Chapel Brampton, Barratts Snooker Club in Kingsthorpe Road, Fox and Hounds in Harborough Road and Thomas A Becket in St James Road.

Gary McManus, owner the pubs featured in this gallery as well as many others in town, said: “I was in town earlier on and there seemed to be a lot of people around who were glad the day is here and it didn’t get pushed back and we’re on track, that’s what most people are pleased about.

“All the staff I have spoken to are absolutely buzzing, they can’t wait to get reopened again and are looking forward to getting in the swing of it.

“Everyone is really keen to get on with it and fingers crossed we haven’t missed anything but there shouldn’t be anything we haven’t thought about as we’ve done this all before.

“We’re normally serving indoors and out and may have a function on so having to just serve outside is a nice way to ease our way back into things.”
