Here is everything you need to know about Silverstone and the F1 British Grand Prix. The race in Northamptonshire is a fan favourite with thousands descending on the county each year.

It’s a fantastic time to be a British F1 supporter with Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Lando Norris three of the best drivers the sport has to offer. In recent years, the race has also offered fantastic drama for fans.

Alfa Romeo driver Zhou Guanyu was involved in the shocking smash last year while in 2021, world champion Max Verstappen crashed out after being involved in contact with Hamilton.

More than 450,000 people expected to descend on Silverstone for the four-day extravaganza and below is everything you need to know about the iconic event in Northamptonshire.

When is the British Grand Prix 2023?

The 2023 British Grand Prix at Silverstone will take place on Sunday, July 9. Friday practice will be on July 7, with qualifying for the main event on July 8. Race day itself is on July 9.

Where is the circuit?

It is held at Silverstone, the site of a Royal Air Force bomber station which was operational between 1943 and 1946. The circuit straddles the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire border.

The circuit is accessed from the nearby A43 and the towns of Towcester (5 miles) and Brackley (7 miles) are nearby.

What other races are on?

There are not just six hours of Formula 1 cars on track to look forward to at the 2023 British Grand Prix. Three support series are also appearing on the packed schedule.

As part of the event, there are two races from each of Formula 1’s feeder series, Formula 2 and Formula 3, while the Porsche Supercup makes a welcome return to Silverstone

In addition, there will be a parade of historic F1 cars on each day of the race weekend.

Can I still get tickets?

Tickets for the British Grand Prix 2023 are still available on Silverstone’s official website through a variety of packages. However, with interest in the race at an all-time high, there are a limited number of tickets available.

Is there other entertainment on offer?

Oh, you bet. Silverstone bosses confirmed in April that Calvin Harris will be performing the evening before the race weekend at the circuit’s first-ever Launch Party.

Also joining him on stage over the weekend will be Tom Grennan, DJ Jax Jones, and pop superstars The Black Eyed Peas.

Where can I park?

There are a range of car parking options available on the Silverstone website. Options include parking and walking 20 minutes to the circuit or parking and catching the free shuttle bus straight to the venue.
