Covid-19 has impacted many businesses across Northamptonshire and among those were our fitness communities. All gyms, classes and PT sessions had to be put on hold and were either rescheduled or booked in via online sessions.
It’s recently been announced that gyms, community centres and health and fitness services are able to resume from 25th July. With many of us taking part in virtual workouts, our local PT’s and instructors are looking forward to welcoming the community back to their gym.
The staff have been hard at work with rearranging equipment, adapting class timetables, adding extra cleaning precautions and ensuring the safety of their members. We’ve put together a guide of which gyms and centres are reopening in Northampton from 25th July.
During lockdown SooYoga have been relentlessly trying to help members and non-members keep active by hosting Facebook, Instagram and Zoom fitness classes. The staff at SooYoga are passionate about helping the community with their health and well-being and have been keeping the community engaged with their array of online classes such as yoga, pilates, HIIT, dance, and more.
The team at SooYoga are now excited to share that they will be back operating from their HQ from 25th July. Their app has now been reactivated and members are able to book classes and view offers. They will also be holding a huge “Back to Fitness” campaign in August where you can get a 1 month pass of unlimited classes for just £29. If you’re not quite ready to go back to the gym then don’t worry as SooYoga will still be holding their virtual classes.
Trilogy Gym have 5 gyms located around Northampton at Duston, Danes Camp, Lings, The Mounts and Cripps. All 5 gyms will be reopening on Saturday 25th July with social distancing measures in place. Gym sessions will need to be booked in 1 hour slots, with a 30 minute window between sessions so that the staff can clean equipment and ensure everyone is able to workout in safe environment. Gym sessions can be booked online from Friday 17th July and fitness classes will be open for booking on Friday 24th July.
Nuffield are excited to announce that they will also be reopening on 25th July and will be introducing new cleaning procedures and social distancing measures, including several hand sanitising dispensers located throughout the gym. They will be limiting numbers in each area to ensure the safety of members. Classes will be running in smaller numbers and will be slightly shorter than normal to allow time for the staff to thoroughly clean the studios.
Virgin Active gym have shared their measures on how they will be keeping members safe. There will be social distancing guides put in place for all areas of the gym including classrooms, locker rooms and on the gym floor. Equipment will need to be wiped down before and after use, and classes have been adapted so that members can still have a great workout whilst feeling safe and secure.
From Saturday 25th July, Pure Gym Weston Favell will be reopening their doors to members. All members will be emailed over the next few days with details and timings about the new measures in place at the gym. They have created space between equipment and cleaning supplies will be available throughout the gyms.
The Gym Northampton have put together some helpful checklists of how to keep safe before workouts, during workouts and after workouts. They will be opening from 25th July and will be emailing members with membership updates, as well as how to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
DW Fitness have been busy preparing and making important changes ready to welcome you back. They have put extra measures in place such as enhanced cleaning, contactless sign in, and hygiene stations located around the gym. They will be reopening from 25th July.
Pump Gym in Northampton are also happy to announce that they will be reopening from 10am on 25th July. They have made changes to ensure your club has the safest and best environment possible. The gym will have new additions such as cleaning stations, upgraded ventilation, a live capacity checker, and more.
Don’t forget that individual Personal Trainers are also back to work. Outdoor group exercise has been given the go ahead so get in touch with your local instructor to find out when they will be commencing classes again.
