Anyone over 50 was able to get inoculated at Northampton Mosque and Islamic Centre on Clare Street from 2-5pm.
Councillor Anamul ‘Enam’ Haque, the chairman of Northampton Communities Alliance (NCA) which organised the event with the county’s vaccination roll-out team, was over the moon.
“It’s been a good turnout, we’ve got no more doses left so we’re really happy – it’s been well received by the community,” he said.
“We had a mix between BAME (black and minority ethnicity) and non-BAME people come along as well as people from different faiths and ethnicities.”
The NCA organised the event to encourage more people from minority communities to get vaccinated as there is some hesitancy.
Councillor Haque said its success could lead to more pop-up clinics in the future and thanked the NHS for its support.
