Oddly Enough, a shop packed with random oddities and a host of interesting, surprising and charming one-of-a-kind pieces, has enjoyed a positive start to life in Rushden.
The shop, in Ealing Terrace, Rushden opened a month ago, and has since found a home in the town by offering trinkets, oddities, and unique items.
Lucy Faulkner, the owner of the budding business just off Washbrook Road, started with Rokkall, an ethically-sourced form of art using bones in antique frames.
From there Lucy, who is originally from Northampton but has lived all around the UK, saw the shop in Ealing Terrace, which was previously a hairdressers and ‘it all fell into place.’

She said: “I knew that the community of people that like the gothic and dark vibe existed, but I wasn’t sure it existed in Rushden.
“I have met some amazing people who are like-minded and like something different. They don’t want to buy new, they want different and interesting things.
“People have really responded well, I’m so pleased.
“It’s been amazing, people have been really lovely. The shop is quite overwhelming, but I think in a good way.”
Lucy stocked the shop from ground to floor herself, something which she said was ‘trial and error’.
Inside, shelves are stacked with all manner of peculiar pieces Lucy has acquired over the years, or made by hand including her Rokkall art, taxidermy, abstract artwork and trinkets of all shapes and sizes.
